PS: what's a doula?
To me, a doula is a caring, nurturing human entirely dedicated to your needs and wellbeing.
Originally, doulas were here to support women before, after, and during childbirth.
Now there are doulas for miscarriage, abortion, death and even fertility.
The role has traditionally been held by women as the original birth wisdom and womb keepers.
DOULA Support
Wondering what support looks like? It's always different and it's highly individual.
Emotional Support
Our primary role is to provide emotional support like listening, sharing wisdom, and holding space.
Information Sharing
Doulas do not provide medical support - they will, however, share information and personal experiences.
Logistical Support
Doulas might help with childcare,
meal prep, and other small things around the home or hospital.
Physical Comfort
Hot water bottles, hugs, and little things that make you feel more
human.
Storytelling
Doulas share stories, break stigma and remind us we are not alone.
Advocacy
Doulas have no political agenda but they will fiercely advocate for their client if needed.
